"Is writing to yourself a healthier insanity than talking to yourself?" -William H. GassHi.
I'm a musician. If you'd like to learn more about me and what I do, please visit my website. The link is below on the right.
But this blog isn't really about me.
I'd like to try an experiment.
Basically, what I am interested in is this:
What does it mean to create and carry out performances for nobody?
As a performing artist or just as a creative individual, is it necessary (or even always desirable) to have an audience?
Let me put it another way by asking a question and then providing an answer.
"If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound
?"
For the purpose of this blog, I would like to modify the question:
"If a work of art is created and nobody is around to witness it, does it still exist?"
My answer is a very definite yes.
But what does that mean exactly?
More soon...
